I want to charge people for my knit hats. How can I do this without being rude or pushy? -

Also I noticed my sisters boyfriend always wears beanie hats like I knit so I asked him if he wanted to buy one for 10 dollars and he said yes. My parents said that it would be rude to charge him money for it. But it takes me a lot of time, and I have to by the yarn! Plus she has only been dating him like 2 weeks. I thought about advertising on Facebook but my boyfriend told me he thinks it s a bad idea, because people could steal my idea and try to charge for knitting hats. HELP?? How should I advertise? Is it wrong to charge my sisters boyfriend of 2 weeks for a hat?

you did nothing wrong - he could have said no - but he said yes do all these idiots in your life think all knit hats in the world are free??? they probably all have no problem paying $10 for a machine made hat at Walmarts, why should they object to paying for a handmade one.you aren t exactly making a fortune for them - probably $1-2 an hr at the most after your yarn coststell them to shut up, you are making legal money in a tough economy - they should be happy for if you can sell anywhen I was a kid in the 60 s - my mother hand-knit Barbie clothes for my sister s Barbies and then sold a bunch too

You should try to sell some of your hand-made creations on etsy.com it is a place where people sell hand-crafted items online. You can even check out similar items on etsy to inspire yourself! You can advertise by paying for an online ad or just by word-of-mouth.I don t think it is wrong to be charging your sister s boyfriend for the hat because it costs you money and time to make the hat. This is your artwork. And if you say that you are planning to eventually sell the hats as a business, I m sure he would be supportive. You can even ask him to promote you.
