COLLEGGE/UNIVERSITY COURSES IN BUSINESS ETHICS. DO THEY RILY MAKE A DIFFERENCE. DISCUSS.? -

THE IMPORTANCE OF BUSINESS ETHICS TO YOUNG PROFESSIONALS AND THE DEMERITS OF THESE TEACHINGS

ETHICS IN BUSINESSIn essence, ethical behavior is morally accepted as good and right as opposed to bad and wrong. Do you need some Professor to tell you that bribing a public official to get a government contract, is wrong? But ethics looks not only at the law, but what is the dictates of a broader moral code that affects cultures. For example, look at the US banking industry. The jokers get millions, and millions and their company goes right down the tube. Moreover, if you work with the topic bankers, how subjective would they be, of course they would say that getting 315 million per year is completely ethical, because they are special. ( Narcissistic, social paths.)Ethics in business, what a waste of time. Common sense, like global warming; you can t change social paths, they are narcissistic, they think little of others, they pretend what they are doing is okay, and if you had a job that payed your bills, and put your kids thru school, what could you say. You could not change the world, you could not change the millions that people get.One guy I know got a million dollar Christmas bonus. Every one else got one thousand dollars...was it something sexual? Was this guy so productive compaired to others? What would an ethics class do for someone in this case? ( Nothing.)In my ethics class we spent two weeks on the problems of evil. The professor had us study Fyodor Dostoevsky (1821-1881). We had to listen to this guys admissions regarding his life, one hundred and thirty years ago. None of the topic lothing life was relevant to anything. But, there were some people who really got into it.In essence, we spent two weeks in class dealing with this psycopath who liked to inflict pain....what a waste of three units. As the ethic class went on, we learned about coping with skepticism. Now, really...its a waste of time...two weeks, on Charles Sanders Price. ( The fixation of belief.) I could go on, but you may see..that I feel that ethics class is a waste of time, as in business everyone does what ever makes the stock holders more money, or they get booted, and they get a CEO who will go along with it...then give him 300 million a year. ( Ethics is a worthless class...unless you get drunk with Bill Gates..ha..you would have something to abstract.
