Power of personal selling, why important? -

A class question i need help with finding an answer.

more important than closing is selling yourself and I think you are asking why it s important to sell yourself. If so, the buzz in sales terminology these days is relationship selling it is when a representative of a large concern has identified a piece of business and personal selling is selling what your company can do and what your company can offer as suitable extras that other companies don t have available and can t offer. Like: education, product knowledge, uses, when to use and not use certain items, knowing when one clearly out performs what is being used and sometimes performs at a lower cost than what is being used as well. Personal selling involves being the best and at the same time being with the best company. On time deliveries, competitive pricing, extended terms, Guaranteed products, of the highest quality selling for less than junk products gets and keeps customers. Still knowing it and proving it, is pretty easy when it s truth.

Closing the sale is based on the attitude you approach each sale with.You must appeal to the interests and emotions of the buyer/purchaser.You must be able to convince but not force the buyer/purchaser that the product does what it says it does, that it is a quality product that is going to give satisfaction from its purchase. Approach it as if you were purchasing the product for your own use.What sort of questions would you be asking.Remember it is not always what you say but how you say it that is important.If you sound genuinely sincere and take a personal interest in what it is you are trying to sell 9 out 10 times you will successfully close the sale. You must be able to stand behind the product or service you are trying to sell in order to have success at closing the sale.
