Could this work to my advantage? -

OK, I am an aspiring film maker working on saving money for film school which will probably end up costing about $20 grand a year at AAU which is where I wanna go...Mom and I were talking earlier and she had an idea that could gain me more experience and earn money for school at the same time...The idea was to put myself out as a director to anyone who wanted an event directed and edited with professional quality at a semi-professional price... she said I could charge per hour and per DVD made (I was thinking 1st DVD free and charge per extra)If I did consider that, what would be a smart way to get started on that (I was thinking craigslist or a professional facebook) and what would be good to charge?

Advertise in all your local papers print up some flyer s. You can not advertise too much. Yes you would need a website to promote your services and show some samples of your work.I don t know too many regular people who need directors, so you may just want to advertise the photography part with a twist- special events, birthdays, anniversaries and so on.Facebook Myspace are nice personal pages, but not really good for advertising, since anyone who joins you can comment on anything.Tripod offers free websites you can add a guestbook.

I prefer making personal contacts, advertise through friends, peersYou can use local newspapers later..And also you use lots of yellow pages in online other than social networking sitesTwitter is one of the good options if you try it on social networking sites. It is a good planGo for it
