It depends on the business and how good you are. If you have a business that is not affected by the economy (I own a pharmacy and have done relatively well) and you know what you are doing and can avoid the perils of running out of cash during the startup years, why not? There are many other factors other people will bring up, but if you are willing to take the risk, and can deal with the consequences, then you should do it. Even in a healthy economy, there are always risks of starting a new business. Good Luck.
