Starting a doggy day care? -

Ok so me and my two friends are thinking about starting up our own doggy day care. Two of us are 16, and the other is 17. We know this is a serious commitment because taking care of a dog is a huge responsibility in itself. So before we start, i was wondering if the services/time/money we are going to offer is reasonable?Offering:Dog WalkingGroomingExerciseTrainingTimes:Weekends: Every other weekend from 12:00pm -5:00 pm (they can pick up their dogs whenever they like)Weekdays(reminder we are still all in school): 3:00 pm-6:00 pmCosts:We are going to charge based on the order. For example a person who only pays for dog walking would have to pay less than a person who wants grooming and walking, etc. Prices range from $10.00 to $20.00We were thinking of having a time schedule, for exampleDog walking: 3:00pm- 4:00 pm Grooming 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm etc..Are we missing something? Or doing something wrong? Would you, as a dog owner, put your dogs in our care? Advice is really needed, and greatly appreciated. :)Thank you!!

It sounds like you have already put a lot of thought into this. Kudos to you and your friends! How about dog washing / bathing as another service to offer? And Vet visits for doctor appointments?Oh - an idea is to snap pictures of the dogs, and after a few repeat visits, offer a free trinket, like a framed picture of the dog or a bookmark or something. The pricing seems VERY reasonable, which is good, but be sure to calculate all expenses so that you do not end up loosing most of the time. Have you thought about marketing? Consider using flyers, newspaper ads and HOA meetings for spreading the word to your neighbors.Check out some websites for some ideas and think about creating your own website for information like your times and prices.
