If you drop out of highschool at 17 can you work without having a workers permit even if you hit 18 very soon? -

I am 17 years old and i am turning 18 in late late october( today is september 15 2009). I messed up a lot of my high school career ( which i regret) and i am planning on getting my GED. So i am going to drop out but if i drop out i can t get a workers permit supposedly because i need to be in school? I am curious because if i drop out of school , then do i really need a workers permit? my family life is bad so i am looking to get a job and work my *** off so i can get the heck out of here by my birthday or a little bit after. can someone please tell me if i can not go to school and just start working if i drop out. and please don t reply to my answer saying i should go to school because i am not asking if i should.

No you can t.Minors can t work full time (legally) and do a lot of things. You ll have to wait until your 18. You can always work under the table ;) (many of those people don t pay taxes)Be thankful that your not 18 yet because you won t find a job!!
