I am opening a clothes shop selling African Outfits but up to now i do not have a name.? -

i have searched for a simple and eye catching name but i dont seem to get any.

How about running a competition in your area through your local newspapers, or with local secondary schools/colleges etc to get all the locals to come up with a name. That way you get free PR in the local newspapers, school/college newsletters etc both announcing the competition in the first place and then announcing the winner, perhaps with a photo of you handing the competition winner their prize (which doesn t have to be expensive - how about an MP3 player for a tenner?) and if you get photographed with the winning name/logo being held up too then it gets it in front of people right from the start. then once they start to see your business up and running they will already be familiar with the logo/name etc and your business will have instant credibility. This is just an idea - adapt it at will!

Name Your Business so its MemorableDoes your business name stand out? Does it tell people what you do?Pet StoreDoes it include your name to give it a friendly feel?Jennys Pet StoreDoes it give your location if you want to target a particular area?Jennys Sydney Pet StoreDo you specialize?Jennys Sydney Pet Rabbit StoreIf you have a small marketing budget your business name becomes another marketing tool and an image for customers to remember.

Maybe use part or all of an African village name, or an african word for a piece of clothing.Look at the type of names used for african hair products or successful wine merchants......Often the idea will come to you when you are not thinking about generating a brand name.

I cant really help you with the name of the store (Sorry) but I can tell you that your going to need Dress Forms and Mannequins, and that I Buy mine on Amazon.com, they have some really good ones listed and the prices are very fair.Good luck!!!!!

What about Instyle, Outfit, citizen, standard, or you can use the local word in African Language.Wish you all the best for you new venture.
