Hi. going to open a new trend cloth shop. pls help me to find a nice name. uncommon, easy to say amp; read.? -

Armadio (it means closet in Italian)

How about running a competition in your area through your local newspapers, or with local secondary schools/colleges etc to get all the locals to come up with a name. That way you get free PR in the local newspapers, school/college newsletters etc both announcing the competition in the first place and then announcing the winner, perhaps with a photo of you handing the competition winner their prize (which doesn t have to be expensive - how about an MP3 player for a tenner?) and if you get photographed with the winning name/logo being held up too then it gets it in front of people right from the start. then once they start to see your business up and running they will already be familiar with the logo/name etc and your business will have instant credibility. This is just an idea - adapt it at will!

Do I have to my account number on the money order if Im just purchasing something online? -

Account number for what. You don t put account numbers on money orders, no matter what you do with them.Money orders come with a set of numbers on them. If you are referring to your bank account, ah no!

Accepting payments online. what is the process please? -

hi. im opening an online furniture business in the UK. i want to accept card payments, but dont want to use paypal.can you please tell me what the process is? my business account has been opened today. somebody mentioned that i need a merchant account and payment gateway. also need to access the payments within a week or so as i buy the goods after the customer orders them, rather then keep them in stock. xxall advice would be appreciated. thanks. x

What s your objection to using Paypal? Many on-line retailers use them. (We have for some time.) The only issue that we ve had, which I can understand might be a problem with the products you re selling is that they have a transaction limit of 650 for buyers who don t have a Paypal account. We looked at setting up a bureau account with Netbanx to get round this. They re UK based, you can speak to real people easily if you have questions and their fees are very reasonable. I think it takes up to 2 weeks to get your money through from them but that s quicker than most of the other providers. The other benefit of having a burea account with Netbanx is that you don t need a merchant account as well. Banks usually won t give you a merchant account until you ve been with them for 6 months. After 6 months with Netbanx you can apply to have a merchant account. It doesn t seem worth it, however, as the bank will charge you a fee for having the merchant account and you ll still have to pay your fees for payment transactions. As has been mentioned elsewhere, you ll need a shopping cart. We use Roman Cart. Not difficult to set up and they give you all the code to put into your website. In summary, therefore, you need a website, a shopping cart provider (check whether your hosting company provides one or check out Roman Cart) and a payment gateway such as Paypal or Netbanx.Good luck!

Before you can accept online payments you need to set up your shopping cart. You need to configure your store, put on products, refund policy, terms of use, have an actual address and then u can accept credit cards. You will need a merchant account AND a ecommerce gateway that will be programmer unto your shopping cart. You can either pay for a shopping cart, like yahoo shopping cart, xcart, volusion or you can use free open source carts, like virtuemart, magento, prestacart, shopify etc. Do a google search for open source shopping carts. For a merchant account, do a google search 4 merchant services UK and ask ur bank 4 reccomendations.

do people buy furniture online? never heard of any business succeeding in that are - how are you planning on shipping? and shipping costs will make any kind of furniture a lot more expensive and you won t be able to compete price-wise with any brick and mortar stores

I want to start my own business.? -

I would like to start my own business but i dont know how to get suppliers help please!

First come up with your product and make a flyer for the product (professional looking) telling what the product is. Along with the flyer, write a letter to the supplier telling them why this product is in demand, a little about your business, and if you could set up an appointment, (on the phone or in person) to talk about your product. Mail the letter to the supplier and hope for a response. Suppliers are always busy talking with people (I would know) so give some adequate time for response.

So many supplier ate available in the market.Let us know what type of business you want to setup..So we will help you, i am a businessman

I have seen that timber/ wood business is best as this is no loss business. You can further contact people like GILL TIMBERS who enjoys reputation in quality.

i would just buy the suplies as it comes.

What do people think of the company time4sleep? -

Im thinking of buy a new bed.I have found one i like but i was just wondering what peoples experiences were like with the company time4sleep.co.uk?

.. why buying a bed online ??.. best choice to look for something infront of your eyes, so you could see for yourself the design, and the kind of material included, defects, etc... plus with the stores you could get a bargain, or try them on their sale season .. which will be soon .good luck and have a great day ..
