Is it likely to sell 30 guitars a month? -

The way I have learnt it, there are several things which will determine how many of a product you will sell. (I am going on the standard Marketing mix Ideology from GCSE Business Studies If anyone was wondering)1. PriceThis is a major part of the product selling market. The lower the price, the more you will sell (to a limit, when people think that there must be something wrong with them as you are obviously trying to get rid of them) If your prices are lower than your competition s then people will buy your Guitars2. ProductIf your Guitars are of a good quality, then people will see them, think that they look like they are good quality and buy them. Again, if your products are of a better quality than the competition s then people will buy yours rather than their s.3. PlaceWhere you sell your products from is also important. If you sell your products in a proper music shop then people would be more inclined to buy them than in say, your local Tescos.4. PromotionHow you advertise your product is important. If you advertise your guitars through posters or adverts in the local papers then you will get many more sold than not advertising at all.Overall, I think you could sell 30 Guitars a month as long as you follow the four points I have outlined above.Hope this helps

If you were the only guitar dealer in NYC or LA, therefore had no competition, you might hit 30 sales some month. Or if you were the international low-price-leader on the web, you might.

What type of guitars are you selling?depends on the market segment you want to target - custom built, high end, or mass market, or just toys.

What no strings attached ?

i doubt it unless they re dirt cheap

Starting new biz should I open another bank acct in that name/open a separate acct under my original company? -

I am creating a new business with a new EIN andI want it to be under my larger business. I wanted to ask someone if it would be better to open a separate bank account from my primary business or assigned an account number under my larger business? Thanks.

You should check with your lawyer, but if you mix the accounts, those funds may be vulnerable if one of the companies has legal action brought against it. I would create a separate account to manage those funds, even if the second company is a subsidiary of the original company. You should also make sure your company is properly registered (ie- Incorporated, Sole Proprietor, etc.)

Business account for each business is the way to go. You sound as if you are trying to economise and skip accountants and lawyers fees. realise now that if that is the case, stop business plans straightway because you are bound to lose everything you put into it. At least, ask your bank manger/accountant for an opinion.Good ideas and new business have a bad habit of costing more money than you ever get back from them.

Every EIN should have a separate account.

I want to start my own homebased business consultant business. Any advice? -

Most important - what would your area of expertise be? Specifically, what service(s) would you be offering? Needs to be something you are proficient at, of course--and a service that s in demand. And where do you live--what region would you provide services in?Google start consulting business in BC Canada for information specific to your location.Making a business plan, and/or looking at a sample one ought to give you enough ideas to get you started at least asking the right questions--and how to start researching the need for your services.Go to http://www.smallbusinessbc.ca/bizstart-samplePlan.php for a sample business plan--for BC - adaptable for any location I suspect.

This isn t intended to sound rude, but I m sure it will come off that way. If you are here asking strangers who may or may not know anything about business for advice on starting your own business maybe business consulting isn t the business you should be getting into.

Write down all your qualifications and send out brochures.

Do I need any specific college credits to obtain a business license? -

I m a 19 yr old VA resident and i plan on opening a recording studio / club within the next 2 years. I know that I will need a business license, but I don t want to waste time taking classes that I don t need. Thanks in advance for the help.

No, you don t need any college credits at all to obtain a business license. A business license is just for taxation purposes. However, in order to have a better shot at succeeding in your business, you should either take some classes (like Accounting, Management, Human Resources, etc.) or have access to a team of people knowledgeable in those areas. You will also need an accountant, an attorney, an insurance agent, and a banker.Check with your local SCORE office and/or local Small Business Administration office for further information.

Anybody can get a business license even if you don t have an education. Talk to your local chamber of commerce regarding what steps you need to take to get it since different municipalities have different requirements (fees, locations, etc.). They are a great source for not only getting a license but helping actually establish the business and keep it running efficiently.

A business license doesn t require anything but money. However, business courses would be very valuable.

What do you think makes someone successful in starting their own business? -

Is it their ideas?Or is it actually acting on those ideas and actually making it work?I m 17 and I always have ideas of businesses that I know could work and I can spot niches in certain markets. But I never act them out, or actually try and start up the business. Is this because of age, experience or will I just be like this my whole life?

ADVERTISE ADVERTISE ADVERTISE that s the secret to success,i was a partner in a small business, which only lasted 2 years because my partner who had the money didn t want to spend it on Advertising. Because when ever i put a add in about our business we got customers and when there was no add we got nothing.

Just do it. You re over thinking it. I started my own web design business when I was 15 and I now own 3 different small businesses and they re all growing. Go for it! Get support from family for capital to start it all, and just go for it.
