I need quot;freequot; small business software to keep up with tracking sales,purchases,etc....? -

My small business that I started this year hs sold about $20,000 and currently I only have my sales/costs/expenses on an Excel spreadsheet and need an actual way to input and keep up with sales/purchases/freight/taxes/expenses,e anybody have any ideas?

GnuCash is one I really like.

Good suggestions from the other posters. Take a look at GnuCash, if you want a personal accounting software that can support a single user running a business that is not incorporated. However, if you are planning to incorporate or may need more people to use this software in the future, look at TurboCash for accounting. It can be upgraded to a multi-user version suitable for up to 5 users.PostBooks and SQL-Ledger are Business Suites (also known as ERP) that have additional features to handle operations of a business, in addition to accounting. The downside is that these Business Suites are high maintenance. My recommendation would be osFinancials. This is also free and open source software:1. osFinancials has accounting, inventory control and Point of Sale (POS) integrated.2. You can start with the osFinancials single user embedded version, which is low maintenance.3. As the business grows you can upgrade to multi-user or add plug-ins for contact management (CRM) or eCommerce. So, if you are selling on the internet now, or are planning to do so in the future, this will make it easier. You can see a list of companies using osFinancials here:http://www.osfinancials.org/mediawiki/inInstallation and User Guides (in Dutch and English) are available here:http://www.osfinancials.org/mediawiki/inThe discussion forum (in Dutch and English) is here:http://www.osfinancials.org/index.php?op

There s a few different software suites that are free that will do exactly what you want. Your best bet is probably to search for: open source alternative for quick books, in your favorite search engine. I ve tried a few of them and for a small / medium sized business they all worked just fine.My personal favorite one was http://postbooks.org/ they have a really strong community base and are still actively developing and adding to it.Others I ve used and had success with are:http://www.turbocashuk.com/index.html - turbocashhttp://www.sql-ledger.org/ - sql ledgerhttp://www.appgen.com/aptus/my_books_pro - my bookshttp://moneydance.com/ - money dancegood luck.

What do you think about my business idea? -

My idea is to operate a Limo Hire service in my local area, i would start off with a cheap 1980 s Limo which would target mostly secondary school proms, hen/stag nights, students, parties, airport runs. I would be a soletrader to begin with, i know i would need at least 20,000 to get it going and i feel it would be a success in my area. What do you think about this idea?Am i being realistic with my 20,000 budget?Much Appreciated

I saw on ebay two limos for sale for 20K (10K each). Yes it is realistic but you just need to be aware of any competition in your area. Limos are still doing ok despite the economy at the moment but you may need to consider that in the future, even then if you can cater for other work like business, weddings, funerals you should be fine. Choose the limo colour carefully though.

perhaps, i would guess that would start it off pretty well. but i would have some extra just in case.

I want to start a business,? -

i wana start IT Support Business, i have only the Mobile numbers of the users who use DSL connections 70% of the People are layman abt computers how shud i start to tell them if they need any help then contact me, shud i send TExt msgs to their mobile or call them suggestions will be highly appreciated

I d say start with a professional looking website to refer to. That way they will be able to see that you know what you are talking about. Also be very sure to follow all the spam and privacy laws etc. Do not contact them with details unless you have their permission to do so. The worst start for a new business is by breaking the law or not abiding to rules. It will give you a bad credit from day one. A site that might be helpful that lists free tips to start a business is twitter.com/startforfree.Good luck setting up your business!

Any idea as to who makes peel and stick business cards? -

I saw this in a technology magazine a while back, and have forgotten about it since.I know it had a short, simple name, and that the cards were printed out in color, and had the option to be bent at the middle, leading the back cover to snap and reveal an adhesive surface, which would be used to apply a business card to somebody s body, to a table, to portfolios, etc.Any insight?

Certainly: http://www.allin1printing.comYou have a few things to consider, though. If they re intended mainly to be stickers, then no problem. However, I had a friend who got them done and people wanted to write on the back of them. Of course, that turned out to be impossible. He eventually purchased regular business cards as well.

Do you want to know a name for this type of card, or how to get them?Any printing company that produces regular business cards can most likely produce adhesive backed business cards as well.If you want to purchase these things, one word of warning; this can backfire on you. Often, these cards end up getting stuck on something or someplace where they are not appreciated, reflecting poorly on your and your business!

I want to start making money with Clickbank, and other company and they recommend I get a tax id.? -

1.How does a solo tax id cost?2. Do I have to pay taxes if I make $5000 in one year?I m a full time student in college and my mother pay taxes.

For most people, your tax ID is your social security number. Use that. If you don t have one, go to the IRS website irs.gov and fill out the paperwork to get an ID.You probably do not need to pay tax if your total income is $5,000. But it is often smart to file a Form 1040 anyway. Then the IRS knows everything about you. And if there are any future rebates from the government, they know where to mail yours. When you receive income from some companies they want an IRS Form W-9. YOu can get them online. Easy to fill out.You won t have to pay tax on $1,000.

You get a tax ID by applying for one with the IRS. It is free. You do have to pay Federal income tax unfortunately, however it is only 10% if you make $5000 in a year. You pay it when you file your tax return by April 15.

How do you close an auction on eBay? -

Someone has personally emailed me to close the auction even before he has placed any bids on my item, how can i do this, and is it possible?

why would you close the auction without any bids?anyway go here:http://offer.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?E

So, you are going to cheat eBay out of it s Final Value Fees? And, have you wondered *why* this person just doesn t bid? These, close your auction and sell it to me types are scammers. They can be true scammers who have no intention of paying you are flippers who know that the item is valued at $$, offer you $ and laugh at your stupidity when the relist the item for $$.
