My mother is looking to start a taxi service here in New York. She s not going to be driving, she ll hire someone to work at the base, where the calls come in and have the person route the calls to different licensed livery drivers. The drivers will pay a weekly fee to gain access to calls.There are a bunch of these services in NY, but she needs to know what requirements need to be met, what licenses are necessary etc. She already has a business license for a beauty salon she s in the process of opening and the capital to invest etc., and 24+ people she knows she can hire right off the bat.Thanks for any input/insight/advice!

You re okay ( probably ) if all you want is for them to take orders, BUT, if a customer asks a question you want the call center to be able to give a correct answer, all the possible questions must be written down, along with the correct canned answer you want given. Gets really sticky then, because the people at the call center must not only be able to understand the question, but must be able to relate to the canned list you gave them.....

This can actually hurt your business. Do not think for one minute that someone from the USA wants to buy products/services from someone outside the USA, especially these days. Get entry level people to work for you part time, train them, let them work either in the office or from home using Hosted VoIP PBX technology. Do not confuse this technology with Vonage or Magicjack. They are terrible and do not offer the technology i am talking about.
