I got a gift certificate for a store that recently went out of business. Can I ask my credit card to refund? -

I received the gift certificate as a present from a friend but the spa closed down recently but it s a pretty significant amount. Is it possible to get the money refunded by the credit card company that she purchased it from? I would hate to see that go to waste just because the vendor went out of business.I don t know if this matters but she bought it on a Visa card.

This also happened to me and the only thing that saved me was that it was also bought on a credit card. Contact them as soon as you can as I think there is a limited time period to do something.
