How do I work out an hourly rate for pound;30,000 pa? -

I am due to start temping and I need to break this down per hour (before deductions) sorry my maths is dreadful!

You need to know how many hours in the standard working week as it varies from company to company. But let s say it was 40 hours per week like mine then you would divide 30k by 52 weeks to get a weekly salary of 576.92 and then divide this by the number of hours (in this case 40) to get an hourly rate of 14.42.But as I said, you need to know the number of hours in the standard week to get the correct figure.

Quick trick to convert an annual salary into an hourly rate... is to knock the thousands off and then divide by two. Roughly 2000 working hours in a year.So... 30k pa = 15 per hour or thereabouts, as is shown by those above. This way is just easier!

Yearly: 30,000 - Monthly: 1,881 - Weekly: 427Hours per week: 35 (estimated) = Hourly rate: 16

Depends on how many hours per week you work.If it is 38 hours, then the hourly rate is:-30,000/(52*38) = 15.18i.e. salary/(no. weeks in year * hours per week)

40 hr per week at 52 weeks a year =2080 hrs 30,000/2080=14.42 per hour
