My husband and I would like to know how we can our own auto detail shop? -

We have been talking about this for awhile but don t know how yo begin. Also how to get a loan to help us even though we have bad credit and what we ll need!

If you have bad credit, no one is going to give you a loan for a new, unproven business so get that out of your head. Your best bet would be to go about it like this:#1. Decide if you re really, really serious about this. Starting any new business is a huge investment in time, money, and sanity.#2. You ll need to get incorporated, and you ll need to get whatever types of licenses and insurance that is required for this type of work, meaning you ll need to consult with a lawyer, and you ll also need an accountant. #3. Since your credit bad, you wont be able to get a loan or a lease on commercial property. You ll need to figure out what kind of equipment you ll need, buy it in cash, and start your business out of your home. You WILL get customers by being able to undercut big name shops due to your lack of overhead. #4. You ll need to do some marketing. You should put up ads on craigslist, you should post like crazy on car forums, especially any kind of local forum you might have. It s all about visibility. You may also want to print up some lawn signs / magnetic stickers advertising discount detailing work... Put them on your cars, put them around town, get those signs up anywhere you can legally put them.#5. If you are incredibly lucky, you ll find some customers. If you do good work for them at low prices, they ll refer their friends. If you keep doing good work, you ll eventually start to cashflow. At this point, you ll be in a position to take your financials to a bank, show them that you re making money, and show them how you plan to make even more money by expanding.I hope this helps and wasn t too complicated, but starting your own business is no joke :P
