In matters of renting a business? -

i have had new owners take over my job in the recent month or two...there had been an eviction notice on the door that employees seen, and his response to us is not to worry because hes not paying rent until the landlord (is that what theyre called for business property?) fixes a few things including a leaky roof and there is mice in the restaurant too...(gross i know)i dont believe is is the property owners responsibility since its a business but hopefully i am wrong whos responsibility is it to fix these problems in this occasionbusiness owner or property owner

Mice, well that s up to the business owner himself/herself not the building owner unless that s covered in the lease or the building is a multiple type of some form but only if more than a duplexLeaky roof seems to be the building owner s responsibility, however it could result in a health department vio or shutdown since it s a restaurant. My fix would be have it done, then sue the property owner for the amount if the initial request for repayment is refused! You cannot refuse to pay rent as that is a violation of the lease agreement in and of itself, and that eviction notice can be acted upon. This seems to be a job for...... LAWYERS! YAY! I know, but that s what they re for!

mice belong to the restaurant owner-hurry before the health departmentmoves in.and shuts him down...the roof leaks belong probably to the building owner-but the health department could also issue a citation for this to the restaurant, also.better be looking for another place of employment if this owner isbickering over who fixes what...
