Can you use used cooking oil instead of cooking spray in making candles? -

Sorry to be bothering people again with my candle problems but I really need the info! My so called trustworthy friend said that you can use used cooking oil instead of cooking spray to make the candle easier to remove from the mold. Is this true?

Dylstar 7: She said CANDLES not Candies.Spray oil is merely packaged under pressure. It really depends on the oil used (pray or bottle). vegetable based will probably leave a residue that could go rancid giving an unpleasant aroma to the candle. Use mineral oil instead. You could probably use a standard spray bottle or you could get a special pump bottle meant for cooking oils in a kitchen supply store. That way you get a thin even coat.

are you going to go trough the trouble of filtering ur used oil so it doesn t clog your sprayer bottle?Do you want your candies to taste the way used cooking oil does?and finallycandies cook at a higher termerature than oil can remain a liquis sothe oil will compete with the ingredients in the candy mixture as they fight over which oil was there first they will burn the candy along the wayif you have the option use cooking spray on your molds rather than ued cooking oil
