Do i need to add Air Mail sticker if i use square white sticky label from post office? -

Is it true that when you send letter with square white sticky label stamp printed by staff at post office, you dont need air mail sticker as the sticky label already has a code for air mail on it. And what is the correct postage price for sending a large letter which in uk costs 61p. I ask this because everytime i go to my 3 different nearby post offices, they always charge me different prices, one says its 56p, one says, 81p, one says 1.21 and one even says 1.35 which even i know is for posting outside of europe. No post office staff is properly trained to be aware of the actual cost. Large letter here costs only 61p which has 25 grams weight so how much within europe?THANKS IN ADVANCEThanks in advance.

No letter needs an Air Mail sticker - but it helps ensure it gets treated properly. The PO give them away free or you can just write Air Mail on your letter if it s going to an english speaking country or, in your case, Air Mail - Par Avion will be recognised in most countries.25g to Europe is 81p - that is for a letter. If you are sending goods then they may charge you 1.21 which is the small packet rate. Tell them you want to send it letter rate - and if they say you can only send letters by letter rate tell them letter rate goes up to 2000g and do they really think anyone writes a 2kg letter!?
