In with your wage packet you will have a wage slip that shows your gross pay. The gross pay is the amount you earned that week before any deductions such as tax or national insurance. If you add up all the gross pay for each week then that will give you the amount earned for the year. Your wage slip may also have a section that says earnings to date , so that would tell you exactly what you have earned in the current tax year. Remember that the official tax year starts on 5th April. At the end of each tax year you will receive a P60 which is the official confirmation of what has been paid to you in that tax year.
