How can i start a business? -

I am 18 and i have ideas for many companies including charities. i know what i want to do with these brand names and companies, but i m not sure were to start. any suggestions from people with success in the same department? also i have heard that rich people buy assets, not liabilities. what are smart assets to buy as i am starting out, and as i progress?
