Top on your list should be the ability to handle the lifestyle changes of a trucker. You re going to be on the road for weeks or months at a time, away from family.Most guys start young, around the age of 21, and tend to be single. You need to a CDL to drive interstate with sufficient experience at driving school.A first year driver makes up to $40k a year with an increase of $5-10k in the second year.

There are a lot of trucking companies out there that will train you. Do your homework and pick a good one. They will charge you for the training but you get it back if you make it.
