Have you already started tutoring him? If so, you have a bit of a problem. You wouldn t work at say an office unless you knew your salary, right? This is another job. Always negotiate the fee before starting. If you didn t do that already, do it as soon as possible. The boy, and his parents, might think you re doing it for free otherwise. How you can tell them depends on how you got the job. If a notice of a tutor wanted was posted on a bulletin board, for example, it should have said something about payment. If it didn t, you re probably working for no salary. Did someone come up and ask you for help, with no mention of payment? Again, free work. If a teacher or counselor told you about the job, go to them and ask if you will get any money. Bottom line, make certain you know the rules before you start working. As for what you can charge, that depends on what others are charging. I d go to the school counselor and ask if he/she has any suggestions about going rates for tutoring. Or ask around to find someone else doing that kind of work. It really all depends on where you re located.
i would start out by asking myself if i had to pay for this what would i pay. than add your time to it if i had to do it i would charge if this two nights 60 bucks x by number of hours giving 4hr.
