Where I am from it is actually discourage by the court for either party to hire a lawyer. Your friend should go to the local court and ask for paperwork to file the claim. She will need to know the name and address (at a minimum) in order to get the paperwork served to the contractor. They will set a court date and the contractor has to show up or he loses and if he shows up and loses then the court should be able to give collection options to your friend. I believe she can even file the claim for more than the down payment for the cost of the hassle and paperwork, etc. So check that out. If the value is higher than 10 grand then your friend might want to talk to a lawyer about representing her and payment to be made out of recovered money. If your friend really does have a case and the lawyer sees that they will likely get paid from that I m sure it would work out.

well i presume they provide all the copy machine and all the materials to you so based on the cost of other places such as office max or other copy centers that do this for set fee of $50 or $100 depending on size of the job you hourly rate should be based on that !taking into account they have the cost of ink and paper i can copy articles at office max simple B W 8 X 11 pages for 7 cents each in less than an hour 1000 pages cost me $70 plus tax would be $74.90 so based on the size of the job which you dont say it is your hourly rate shoud be in figuring with how many pages your copying rembering that they have the cost of the ink and copy machine and paper ! I would say around $5 an hr for you especially since it s under the table figuring maybe 5 hrs time or even 10 hrs ! becuase at $7.15 an hour that would be the taxable wage so you lose like 30% of 7.15 an hour $71.50 for 10 hrs minus taxes leaves you with $50.05

Hi Luke,I will try to answer your question rather than try to sell you something. Above the line advertising does work and is really good for branding. If you get a good advert, an eye catching one in a good location where people see it, (think traffic jams) then it does get you noticed.Will it drive lots of business your way? Unlikely as people don t really jot phone numbers down from these or remember email addresses. Law firms are something you only need now and then so there would not be instant buys, but at least they know a name. Personally I would only recommend billboards for brand awareness in the type of industry that you are in.They are expensive alright but over a period of time they do get a brand message out there. If you are in it for the long term, then probably worth pursuing, but if it is just to boost short term sales, then I would think carefully.The only other way it might work was if you were to maybe advertise something like Get a free will made today, limited period only. Offer both media mail and Priority Mail, or ask a higher price and offer free shipping. Before Xmas that might help. Offer discounts on multiple items. Accept returned items, less shipping which is only $4 for a book. Ship international. Definitely fill in the Item Specifics. Take good pictures of the book. Choose auction rather than Buy It Now. Make sure your title has a lot of search words and fill the whole line. I know a sub-title helps but I hate to spend the $ for a cheap item. I have had to list some items 3 and 4 times. Remember, you can have 5 free items every 30 days. There is more info on EBAY help pages.

I am trying to organize thousands and thousands of different types of hardware. I am in the process of counting everything, but I have to figure out a way to organize it to better control inventory, we have tried organizing it by job #. Each different type of hardware has a part #, we have tried organizing it by part number. Hardware consists of screws, nuts, bolts, washers, brackets etc. you name it we got it. Tough call. I think you hit the right one though with plumbing. Carpenters and electricians depend too much building booms. Plumbers remain in demand because plumbing wears out. It is hard to predict the long term viability of any job. Right now health care is in demand and growing. A lot of people think that is a guaranteed job forever. It isn t. Health care is growing because of the baby boomers who are aging and needing more care. Once we (I m 58) all die off in 30 to 50 years there will be too many hospitals. nursing homes and health care workers. Computer careers were thought to be indestructible from about 1990 to 2000 but that was the combination of year 2000 reprogramming and building the internet. In the 60 s it was aerospace workers and in the 70 s it was petroleum engineers. This is just another recession, like all other recessions. It will end. Choose a career you like. It is just too hard to predict the future.

i am acting as a broker for a deal taking place in uk. My customer is willing to trust me with ��250k. I have to go to my supplier and buy the goods on my customers behalf.So, i have a signed and dated purchase order from my customer. I am going to send a purchase order to my supplier, with the condition that my customer is happy to buy the goods and sends the money (he will view the goods before he sends the money to us). I will then require a proforma invoice from the supplier.The goods are brand new and in unopened boxes....so i cant check them all because they are unopened.....plus there are 10 truck loads. So i have to assume that a few random spot checks are ok. But how do i know that the supplier will release the goods once i pay him? I presume that if challenged they would have to produce a shipping manifest saying the goods were sent....the customer is arranging the transport....i am not too worried about the customer/supplier meeting... too long to explain.so, im wondering what else can go wrong, and how to cover my back side.ps, the supplier is reputable....but still, to me its a hell of a lot of money and even a tiny bit of trust is a LOT!!!thanks for answers

Actually you can make money working online. The operative word there is working. You may want to check out some work at home blogs that are not spamazations (a little twist on organizations). Remember, if you have to pay for the information it s probably a waste of time and money. I do pretty well and I never pay for work, or respond to the gazillion spam-ads that you may see.

When does a hobby become a business? -

I am in the final stages of getting a business plan off the ground, and hope in the next few weeks to start producing a product to sell in my spare time. I have invested my own money, and don t expect much return very quickly. I am still going to work full time until slowly i can afford to drop a day if my business picks up. I am going to be working out of my friends shed, and marketing through ebay to start off. I have been advised that it should just be a hobby at first. My question is, do i need to register my business with anyone yet, does that make me self employed ? basically when does a hobby officially become a business? I want to avoid getting in trouble.

When you can earn an income from it.

You would need to apply for an ABN no. to register a business name. I don t believe this is expensive - just a formality. I would visit an accountant to get some advice to set up some basic bookwork. Help setting up a small in-room hotel advertising business? -

Hey there, i need some help please.i was out to dinner with my dad yesterday and he told me he had a way for me to make some money. ( some background info on my dad.. he owns 2 hotels)He told me what i should do was:go to places close to his hotels and ask them to see if they wanted to advertise in the hotel rooms. basically charge them a fee per yer and i will put there information on a laminated piece of paper in each room.Example:i go to the local pizza store and then they agree to do it and pay me like $300/year and i will put there name/info/contact stuff on a laminated piece of paper in each roomWould this work?How would i do this?What is my first step?What do you think i should do?Thank you very very much! - Jon

It certainly sounds like a good idea. I presume you will be doing this in the hotels your dad owns, so there is no problem with anyone accusing you of theft or damage in the hotel, and you do not need to worry about access and insurance.Remember to put a code of some kind so that when the guest orders something, they should quote the code so that your client knows the advertising is working.
