Whats the cost of opening a Auto-Repair Business? -

I m 16 right now and would like to to open a small garage when I get out of high school. I plan on starting with small jobs (replacing brakes, oil changes, turn rotors and stuff like that) and then later go into rebuilding trannys and engines (which I do as side work sometimes now). Do any of you business owners or anyone really know approximately how much this is going to cost to get started?

your aims are a bit high for starting it would cost about 50,000 to equip a workshop but without qualifications you would never get public liability insurance and your repairs would not be considered adequate by manufacturers, rebuilding transmissions is a very skilled job again without qualifications who would buy your transmission, one failed transmission would put you out of business, if you had the money you could employ qualified mechanics and get some diplomas on the job
