As others have said, there s no set age. Once you have your own business, at some stage, you ll wonder if you would ever have been capable mentally and emotionally to deal with it!!!Some people are ready to start doing business in their early teens. One of our sons has been involved in business since he was 13. The other at 27 has no intention of going near it.My husband was running his own business in his late teens/early 20 s. I became involved in running a business when I was 19, ran another business for someone else in my 30 s and finally had the opportunity to get my own businesses off the ground when I was in my 40 s.In the UK, Business Link run excellent free seminars on starting your own business. They re great for helping you decide whether it s for you or not. We went on one just after we set up our first business and out of the 20 people there, only 3 of us went forward with our businesses. We were a mixed bunch of all ages and different backgrounds.
My son started his own business when he was 24, as that s when he felt mature enough and also financially stableWhereas my husband was 52 when he started his own businessIts more to do with when you feel confident and knowledgeable about your chosen business and also have done your homework thoroughly.and know your market, your competitors and have a sound Business Plan
Realistically at the age when they can take a Business Plan into a bank, convince the loan officer of the viability of the plan, and then obtain financing.............................. unless they have their own money, then I d say whenever they feel like they can.
with capital and ability you could start at 12 if you wanted to
