If you are a manager would you mind your employee taking time off for job interviews regularly? -

Well obviously if you are going for jobs interview it means that you don t want to stay in the company. I used to be a manger and in that case next time you turn up late or phone in sick..you are out.People needs to work with reliable people. It is a crisis time, remenber some people would murder for a job, so your boss might not be too attached too you.

Yes, I would mind. If you want to find a new job you should try to schedule interviews during your lunch break or after hours if at all possible. Regardless of why you are taking off employers will get upset if you are regularly absent from work. You re paid to be there not somewhere else. Unless your job is closing then, most managers will probably have a problem with it and if they know they may just give you all the time you need to search for your next position by letting you go.

um yes. Only becuase you said regulary and because it is in the small business section. if your leaving them leave and guve the employer a chance to find someone that is going to want to be there and stick around. I understand that he/she will have to pretend not to mind as its law but underneath - they are annoyed.

No. An employer should allow any member of staff to give notice to attend a job interview. If someone wants to move on to something else, they have some ambition, they have been open about it, and given good service, do not stand in their way.

it is ok as long as it is written off as a standard holiday. Also once I know about it I will count the person as not reliable...

If I were the employee I would probably just lie and say I was sick. Its taking the mick a bit.

Absolutely yes. It would mean someone else would have to do their work. If they are thinking of leaving, then they can go now.

That would depend on how desperate I was to get rid of her.

Yes of course unless you are no good

yes!
