How start a non profit organization? details please!? -

Hi!so I have been working on trying to form a non profit organization for a while but I m not really sure what I need to do exactly. I have a facebook group that has recruited a few hundred members and want to promote it and hellp it grow to help as many people as it can.(its called fix the broken)so how do I do this? EASY steps? lol Thanks!!and I am in a club at my school, and we are doing charities, could I use mine? How do I make it official to do that?

Make a website first. Arrange public events, like fairs and dance parties in local disco clubs. Because you want young people to take interest in this. You can do all these with really low budget, and when it comes to raise big money for a local philanthropic project; ask a local politician to attend one your events and make a speech. I tell you what, Obama is so ready to change the world. That s why he got this award. Now, make his administration involve in your project. Make your state s governer, or congressman, or state and U.S. senators involve in your project. I know I sound a little political to you, but this world is about money. But, people like you and I can twist it a little bit by walking this kind of path. I am actually from India, where I am a cofounder of Yuva Unstoppable group. We have a website: www.yuvaunstoppable.org . We did that. We asked our state s chief minister and education minister to come and speak at a cultural dance event we organized and choreographed. Media was there, because of the celebrity. Police cars were there too.:) Mr. Chief Minister gave a thriving speech which astonished local public and he also provided a helping hand by arranging some funds and we are one of the most famous national organization now. In beginning we were only five students from local colleges and high schools throwing flyers in mailboxes of local colleges and dorms. Our work was so much appreciated. Some of our cofounders and especially our group president got selected to attend some of the ivy league schools with scholarships on the bases of this work.Important thing is: First you need to be an importance in the society by taking interest in the local people. Then, the human society will appreciate your efforts and the organization will grow. But, first we all human wants to see someone being happy by doing this. Then we will feel: Yeah, Victoria is doing this with so hard work and she is still happy because of the satisfaction she gains from this work. She encourages our kids and adults at this age and arranges events that can change the world, block by block, brick by brick, calloused hand by calloused hand... (From Obama s Victory Speech) She cares about our society. We are not as lucky as Victoria, but how could we make our existence on this earth for a limited amount of time so satisfied by helping her in whatever she is doing.? Good Luck, I will look forward to joining your group. Email me for other questions...

You ll need to be at least 18 to form a legitimate 501(c)3 organization, since it involves signing legal documents. Here s a general guideline of how to go about it:http://www.ehow.com/how_2002333_non-prof
