You can make flyers or business cards and stick it in the mail boxes of people in your neighborhood that you know have young kids.or go up to houses and introduce yourself telling them if they ever need a a babysitter you can help them.Once you do a good job babysitting one houses kids they will talk to there friends with kids and they will get you to babysit there kids.Just get your name out there! :D
In the babysitting coarse they will teach you how definatly 12 is the starting age of all babysitters :) Good luck. Becareful though, don t take **** from any parent who wont pay on time or the ones who blaim you for stuff you didn t do.

First you need to receive CPR training and have to take a course on how to baby sit. You should also introduce yourself before talking to them about baby sitting.

I started baby sitting way younger answering your question but it was for siblings and I worked in pairs. the first thing about baby sitting is knowing the parents or having some one know your available to babysit in your family so that they can judge on the character of the parents(and trust me that is a big hint to what the kid is like) at their work or friends group to suggest you If no one in your family is a available or open to you doing this sort of job find out what kinds of kids you think you can handle by playing with them at the park or whatever in your neighborhood (if you have no siblings) Tag is an awesome game to judge character of the kid (is he/she a sore loser? does he/she shove you when tagging you) but other games work just as well. if you get to know your neighbors awesome I suggest waiting for the kid to come out in the backyard and throw your ball over on accident if your unsure of what to do. that will get some interaction to happen, if not why don t you make one flier and place it only at their door step or the people you know have kids in your neighborhood.
