You are correct; done that several times, without any trouble. When they weigh items, they can charge excess, if it is warranted. Suggest you try another Post Office. You can claim back unused postage from Paypal; not sure about the time limit. Would be an idea to email Paypal about the problem.

Ebay/paypal help with sending an item ive sold? -
so i ve sold three items and i printed the shipping labels (from paypal) and i went to the post office and they wouldn t send them unless i payed for the postage and the box but i dont get it, i paid for the shipping label through paypal, what should i do? do i have to buy the box and postage? because i thought they were supposed to be free, help?
