Can i set up a personal account with a quot;trading asquot; name? -

I ve been told I can set up a bank account with a name under which I trade, though I have no idea if it s possible/practical.I run a small club and want to seperate its income from my personal finances, as well as be able to accept cheques made out to the club. Currently I use Nationwide (building society) -- would it be possible with them? What would be required/involved?

I reckon you would have to open a business current account at your bank/building society. You tell them what trading name you want on your account, pay-in book, cheque book etc. They will organise it all for you.You do get charged bank fees though for just about everything - paying cheques in, paying cash in, taking money out.

yes; in my experience it s fine and all you need to do is tell the bank that this is your trading name. You are a sole trader . The only problem is that they will probably charge a fee for a business a/c...

You will have to open a business account with your trading name. I had to do this when our PTA started to generate money. You should get 18 months free banking then you will have to pay for everything as the other lady has said.

Many Bank s Provide on line trading account facility. If you had name of your country, then i can suggest name of bank also.
