Should I register my home based Salon? -

Looking at opening a hair salon at home. The work has started but had to fire the contractor because he was doing a poor job. The question is if I should register this business right away? I am thinking about waiting until business get s busy. Does anyone know what are the step I need to take Is there an inspector that would come to our house to look things over? If yes what are the main things they would be looking for?Thanks in advance

BEFORE you do ANYTHING, you must get zoning approval to operate out of your house - if you live a totally residential area, you will probably NOT be allowed to operate a business from you r houses where people are going to be coming in and out all the time - neighbors WILL complain if it is not allowed and you will be forced to shut downstart with your town business/licensing dept and zoning dept and ask if you are allowed to run a business from your house - they will ask your address and look it up on a zoning map
