I sell AVON and I earn about 300 to 400 extra a month. You make 40% off of your first 4 campaings with the exception of items with a diamond next to them, this is usually things like shoes and purses and clothing. You can also earn money if you sign up other reps under you, although you must have at least 5 signed up to start before you can earn off of them. I have been selling for a year now and I love it. You ll need a lot of money and planning to do this so its good you are starting now. A shelter will likely be considered a commercial or industrial property if you plan to house a lot of animals, so you may not be able to do it on a residential property (one with a regular house). You ll need to create a non-profit company, get approval for your non-profit business there as well as building permits. You ll also need to find out the impact of all the waste on the area (can t have tons of dog poop washing into your neighbors yard)...again a commercial or industrial property may be better. Think about how you ll raise money as you won t be able pay for it all yourself. You ll need to think about contracting with and paying for vet, especially for complicated pregnancies...as well as food, cleaning, medical supplies, toys, etc. So...to get started...when you are old enough start volunteering at your local shelter or pet rescue organization. This question is on behalf of a friend. She designs and makes a variety of girl s accessories, sunglasses, earings etc... At the moment she sells to a number of small boutiques and independent outlets but is considering approaching larger retailers. What would be the usual route for someone in her position? Can a PO Box in another town be my business legal address for my home business? -

I wanted to start a home business (selling junk on the internet), but I live in Philadelphia which has a business privilege tax. 6% tax on all profit. Plus Philadelphia has a 2% higher sales tax the the next county over. So, I thinking of getting a PO box or UPS Store Box outside Philadelphia and using it as my business address. Would this be legal?

When you fill out your tax returns at the end of the year and IF you claim a home office/storage deduction, it s going to ask where the office is located. When the PA state tax commission gets a copy of your federal tax returns, the jig will be up and you have to pay the difference plus penalties and interest.Keep in mind that that 6% is on your profit, not gross sales. Once you deduct the cost of your junk, the shipping, supplies, home office deduction, mileage, internet, losses, insurance, etc and so on, you ll probably see that the tax isn t that bad after all :)
