As I m sure you know, warhammer and other games workshop products cost a ton of money for those who get into the hobby. I used to play their games when I was in middle school and I had way too little money to seriously get into it. By the time I got my first summer job for minimum wage, I was saving my money for other things. Of course, it s a great gamea and I m not trying to say there aren t plenty of adults who can afford to spend serious money on the game and are interested enough to do so. However, adding the kind of markup you need to over online vendors and attracting a serious gaming community is a tough challenge. It s also a lot of work, as you ll need to host regularly gaming of all kinds to attract enough people to your store and move product. Also, you may need to extend some other product lines, like you mentioned. Video games, comic books, role playing games, and especially board games are all great prodcuts that would work welll in the same store. I think board games are great because it would allow you to get a majority of your income from mainstream products like monopoly, scrabble, risk, high-end chess sets. It could also attract consumers that would not normally think to look into games workshop stuff but coming into your store for risk, they might be curious and end up buy a starter box of WH40K. if you are already social with a large number of gamers in a particular area that you know doesn t have a game store already, that could be a good opportunity. however, it sounds like you don t have any idea where to actually set up shop. I d say most places are not going to have the kind of business potential you need to succeed. This is also a tough time to start a business with loans and consumer spending being tight. Games Workshop has their own chain of stores in addition to selling through retailers. You can look into opening a branded store where Games Workshop will help you find the best location and give you a structured setup for the store, but I m not sure the particulars...you may have to work your way up the ladder before you manage a store, or you may need to invest your own money.

On average only about 10% of all small businesses survive the first year and the failure rate for restaurants is probably even higher. Do you think most fail because the owners weren t passionate about their restaurant or didn t treat their customers well? Of course not. Most fail because the owners did not understand the business side of the restaurant. Admittedly, there are some people who just instinctively understand business or learn fast enough to survive the first few years but not everybody can do that. Business classes may not be a perfect way to learn everything that you need but they are a concentrated dose of information. In addition to your normal classes, you should see if there are any other classes directed towards small business owners or starting your own business. Lastly, practical experience can be even more valuable than taking classes as long as it s good practical experience. Perhaps there is a well established restaurant that would not be a direct competitor that will be willing to hire you and let you get some experience of running a business. NO, you don t need any college degrees to open a restaurant. The basic ingredients for a successful business would be experience, skills, and etc.. but a college degree/education is not included in there, especially for a restaurant. I ve worked at a successful sushi place before and I know a little bit about how they are successful. They were/are busy most days of the week when other restaurants are closing down. The main thing is customer service. Good food itself just won t cut it. You don t need a degree, the owner of the sushi restaurant barely graduated middle school in Japan but he owns two houses and has enough already for retirement. The thing he was good at was being able to learn from experience. He knows people that come to his restaruants by name, and he frequently tests new menus that sometimes are a hit for the American taste. You could also be good with finances, but you don t always need to do that yourself, hire someone to do it. But always keep in mind, don t be wasteful with food.

This could be a stronger idea if the Strip was easily accessible, had good road frontage for your signage and perhaps was a bit near to a major intersection and possibly a subdivision within a mile or so. I am pretty sure it would be public info if a person has a business license or not. It s not something that is found online. Anyone can set up a website and even operate a business but it doesn t mean they have a business license. As far as going to the city hall you could do that to see if someone has a business license but I am not sure if they would tell you unless you have a reason for needing to know. I don t think they would provide you with a list of everyone who holds a business license and addresses or anything like that so your boss could solicit them for business. Why else would he need to know who all holds a business license? This is not something you can just go and look at their books or records and find for yourself.

i dont think 13 is that young to do it! people usually get mature to babysit i guess. if ur confident that u can do it, then its all good. u have to be active while babysitting, make sure that ur doing everything that the parents told yu to, like feeding on time, make them sleep on time and all. u can play some kind of games with them that wil engage them and u as well. try to enjoy this job, it is kinda fun!

13 is a good age to babysit. many American Red Cross locations give a class that certifies you and teaches you what you need to know. this class goes into some basic first aid and things like that. most of the time at your age babysitting would be just watching the children and maybe taking them to the park (if it isn t far away) and possibly giving them dinner. most parents are very good at giving new babysitter all the information that the will need. i would suggest putting an ad in the paper after taking the class at the local ARC you will most definitely find a job.

What I would do is contact your locat American Red Cross and/or YMCA and see if they have a babysitting course...this will also certify you in first aid and CPR - as a mother -this is a great selling point on why I would choose you over someone who hasn t had the class or be certified in CPR. A reputable profesional business plan writer would not undermine your idea. That being said, in my experience, I have found it helpful to have whoever you hire to work on the business plan sign a non-disclosure agreement. A really helpful book for budding entrepreneurs is The Art of the Start by Guy Kawasaki. This book will help you formulate your idea and your pitch. If you want to try writing your own business plan there are some good books out there. There is also software called Business Plan Pro. As far as your invention, you can at least do a preliminary patent search first yourself to at least get an idea if it is original. I would then have a professional do a full blown search. If you have an invention that you think is patentable, it is probably a good idea to file it as soon as possible. You should find a good patent attorney or agent that is familiar with the field of technology of your invention. Good luck with it!

Calling all accountants help needed!? -

i am self employed sparky and have just got my tax return back from the accountant and i am confused about the mileage/petrol relief. 06/07 i did 2415 miles and got a tax Relief of ��959.00 in 08/09 i did 5075.5 miles and got ��1492.00 in tax Relief, this year i did 10,754 miles and only got ��1565 in tax relief. i queried this with the accountant and simply got a short reply that she had worked it out so i would receive the best benefit. i just don t get why im only ��73 approx up on last year despite doing a extra 5000 miles. any help with how this works would be gratefully received as i have hit a brick wall with accountant and cant afford to see another one.

Let s just think about this for a moment! If you can t draw then LEARN! Even if it is just to draw stick figures you have to have a way to show what your ideas will look like! You have to start out with a clothing line even if it is just one or 2 pieces to start with (there was one famous design line that first started with just 1 tee shirt as its first clothing line product).There is also something that I am trying to figure out here. Bought into a Income Tax Franchise and I m filing for an LLC in Pennsylvania. Confused about the steps in filing for an LLC in PA such as the Docketing Statement (DSCB:15-134A) and Consent to Appropriation or Use of Similar Name (DSCB:17.2.3 ). Are these two forms even necessary?

I am not a lawyer, and I haven t done any LLCs in PA, but it looks pretty straightforward. You need to file a Certificate of Organization and a docketing statement. The docketing statement is easy. If you need help, find a consultant or a lawyer, or go to SCORE. All the docketing statement needs is what org you are going to be, and your information (PA LLC, and entity name, contact person name, address, etc.) I think that is just like a cover sheet to the Cert of Organization, and it probably announces the LLC formation to the Department of Revenue. Certificate of Organization is your application to be an LLC. The Consent to Appropriate or Use of Similar Name seems to be when one entity is taking over the name of another because the other is going out of business, or not doing biz in PA anymore. I don t think it has anything to do with using the franchise name. I would check with your franchisor to see if their legal department can help you register your LLC, or at least give you advice about how to fill it out if you have any questions.

My advice is to start with a very small business first with no employees just to get your feet wet and then you can be more prepared to move into other things when you are ready. For example, a dog walking business or cutting lawns. Another way to get your feet wet is to volunteer at a place where you can learn how a particular business operates. I m assuming that you don t have a work permit yet at your age but when you do, work for a business that you would be interested in having one day. You need to first have a vision. You said you wanted it to be old fashioned. So figure out what you want in the shop and what types of sweets you want there. If you are making them you obviously need to hire someone to make them and if you are buying them you just need to find a supplier. You need someone to be at the store doing sales (cashiering), it is helping to have an accountant (you should not have one on staff though, I just meet with my accountant once a week and go over the numbers they have been taught are important, he tells me what things we should be doing financially to be more successful), then you want someone to do your advertising. You need to let people know why your shop is different and awesome (why they should go there) and if you are not making sales you will fail, so the sales tasks are the most important in my mind). As far as getting a place, I would talk to a commercial real estate agent to help you find a place. If you do some research on how they make their money you ll see that they exist to extort business, not protect consumers. Stick with credible sources. It seems to be another of those affiliate marketing systems . They are a dime a dozen and don t tell you anything you can t already get free. Hello guys, I sold a item on ebay and the buyer emailed me that he will collect the item from me next day. He came near my address the next day to collect the phone and I went with the item near him. He was standing near a shop on a street. So as i mat him he said i dont want to do this transaction on the street but in your house. I was not to sure about this. So i took him outside my door and then he again said i dont want to do it outside but I want to do it in your house. So i took him in. He stared asking me questions about why r u selling the item and how my more do you have and he said i need to go on ebay and click the item saying that you have received the money.
