How do I show a full report from our clients with what they have paid vs. what their contract amount is in QuickBooks? Once you ve done this entry, click on Lists, Chart of Accounts, double click N/R ACME (or what ever you call it). Modify your report to show DR CR and all dates. I still use written ledgers and we are quite a large, vat registered company. I find it a lot easier to follow and easier to find any discrepancies.The only alternative that I would consider is Sage - but you would need some training for that.

If you re good with Excel, you can set up spreadsheets that work well. I ve done this for our companies for many years and we re VAT registered. I ve set them up in such a way that the VAT figures are easy to pick off at the end of the quarter.I know you re not VAT registered, I m just saying that you can do quite a lot with a spreadsheet rather than going into a software package that may or may not do what you want. If you ve worked with ledgers, you know what s needed from the spreadsheets. It s easy to put in a checking column to point up any discrepancies in your data entries.Talk with your accountant and ask what they d recommend. We just give ours the spreadsheets at the end of the financial year and they do the TPL and balance sheet from them.Good luck!

I m pretty sure if it s legal, you can sell it, so that means you can t sell animals or explosives and whatnot. And, there are some cosmetics you cannot sell because of ingredients prohibited by the EU (I think this is still a problem..I haven t checked recently.)A major problem with eBay is that because all transactions are carried out through the internet, you don t have a way of knowing if a buyer or a seller is trustworthy. A seller can display a picture of something that looks perfectly fine, but that object may not be what is really being sold. Likewise, I think a person might not pay and be a bad customer. If anyone has complaints about an eBay user, they can leave a negative rating that alerts other buyers and sellers of the true nature of the person with comments like shipping price was unreasonable, it took 2 months for me to get my object! or object quality was horrible etc. Likewise, you can leave positive comments if you had a good experience with a purchase/sale. Do remember though that postage has to be free on books, so you will need to consider how much each book will cost to post before deciding to list an item at 99p. The people with the money are taking all lthe risk. 99% chance that this business doesn t last a year and the people p[utting up the cash lose it all. That said, if you are doing the work, you are bringing something to the table. I think you re dreaming if you think that the fiance should have 33%, when she is putting up no money and doing bookkeeping. Get real. Here s what I would do...Sister/Brother-in-law - 100% initially. (They are taking all of the risk, you are taking none)You/fiance - 0% (your time is not worth that much)You take 33% of profits initially. Notice, I said profits, not revenue. When your 33% of profits equals $4000, you buy half of the business from your Sister/Brother-in-law. In my mind, the fiance will be with you and you re ownership intererest is community property. If for some reason, it doesn t work out with the two of you, she will hit the road, and you can find an accounting firm. When you own 50% of the business, you can take 50% of profits. It would probably also be fair to get some sort of commision on top, but that s something to negotiate with the sister/brother-in-law. Have fun.

With the information you have given, I would say is your Sister and her husband own the business 100%. Do you bring any skill that only you can provide? Do you have a patent in your name that is part of the business? Did you have an arrangement when you started that you would have an equity position in the company? Does everyone draw a salary? Unless you agreed in the beginning that your work effort would somehow be compensated for by something other than a paycheck I think you need to do that now. You could make 40-80 just making websites/blogging using Java PHP , dreamweaver, im doing it now and Im crap at art .It s just that I know what key words to put in and what websites to host it on. Im a graphic artist as well and I think the best way for us to make money is to advertise ourselves. I design flyers for organizations at the college I attend. I make t-shirt designs and use www.zazzle.com. You can offer to teach a photoshop course or html course at a community college for a weekend and get like $25 per person or more.I made a book cover someone and my check is on its way. So its best to market your self to potential customers.

Hey, I m not sure about Kleeneze but id be very careful with paying out money to earn money as normally your money will keep them afloat, You only earn a percentage on your sales so these company s cannot guarantee you any income.I started Avon as was told I d pay nothing once i had signed i was told for the 1st 2 months i had to pay ��7.50 administration fees and also i had to by my own books ��5.00 for 20 doesn t sound bad but when you have 80 houses and people decide to through your book away it mounts up.I was given certain streets to do as these streets apparently spend roughly 300-400 a month, well in fact i got ��20 worth of orders and don t get paid unless i sell ��78 pounds worth of goods then i will only earn 20% which is nothing.I would say if you have nothing to pay out and don t have to buy books give it a try but as far as paying fee s to earn sorry it doesn t work.

I m a student and I have been commissioned to do some posters and flyers for clubs. I m not sure how much I should charge. The printing they do themselves, all I need to do is the designs. Sometimes I need to do a poster and double sided flyer, and sometimes its 2 designs (for 2 events) that go on one double sided flyer...How much do Graphic designers usually charge for these things? And how much do you think I should be charging as a student?

I m not sure, but I guarantee they will try to undercut you on price. Figure out what your time is worth $50 an hour maybe. Perhaps more.
